Description
DOT-Approved Clear Windshield for Yamaha G22
Give your Yamaha G22 improved wind and weather protection without sacrificing forward visibility. The SGC MOAB WSYM12 is a clear, folding golf cart windshield designed specifically for Yamaha G22 models.
Its manufacturer-stated DOT approval, heavy-duty 4mm construction, and folding configuration make it an excellent choice for owners building a practical cruising cart or working toward a properly equipped street-oriented Yamaha G22.
Manufacturer-Stated 1234-AS4 DOT Approval
Steeleng identifies this windshield as DOT Approved 1234-AS4.
That designation makes WSYM12 a strong option for Yamaha G22 owners who prefer a clear windshield for a street-legal or neighborhood-use build. However, windshield requirements and vehicle-registration laws vary by location.
Always verify your state and local requirements before operating a golf cart on public roads.
Clear Forward Visibility
Unlike a tinted windshield, the clear WSYM12 is designed to preserve visibility in changing light conditions.
That makes it especially useful for:
- Evening and nighttime driving
- Overcast or low-light conditions
- Street-oriented golf cart builds
- Property, campground, and neighborhood use
- Drivers who prefer maximum forward visibility
Folding Windshield Design
The folding design allows you to adjust the windshield configuration as driving conditions change.
Keep the windshield raised when you want additional protection from wind, dust, insects, and light weather. Fold the upper section down when you want more airflow through the passenger compartment.
Heavy-Duty 4mm Construction
The WSYM12 windshield is manufactured from 4mm-thick material, providing a sturdy barrier for everyday golf cart use.
The additional thickness helps create a more substantial windshield than many lightweight replacement options while retaining the convenience of a folding design.
Yamaha G22 Compatibility
Fits
- Yamaha G22 golf carts
- Standard, unmodified Yamaha G22 windshield mounting locations
Steeleng lists WSYM12 by model rather than by a specific production-year range.
Does Not Fit
- Yamaha G16
- Yamaha G29 Drive
- Yamaha Drive2
- Yamaha G14 or G19 unless independently confirmed
- Club Car models
- EZGO models
- Carts with modified or nonstandard windshield supports unless measurements and mounting locations are independently verified
Although some Yamaha accessories fit several G-Series models, WSYM12 is listed specifically for the Yamaha G22.
Confirm Yamaha Model Before Ordering
Yamaha model identification is important because the G16, G22, G29 Drive, and Drive2 use different windshield applications.
Before ordering, confirm that your cart is a Yamaha G22. If the model is uncertain, check the manufacturer identification label or serial-number location before selecting a windshield.
Which Yamaha G22 Windshield Should You Choose?
Choose the windshield that best matches how and when you use your cart:
- WSYM04 โ Yamaha G22 Tinted Folding Windshield: A good choice for daytime cruising when glare reduction and a shaded appearance are the priorities.
- WSYM12 โ Yamaha G22 DOT-Approved Clear Windshield: The better choice for maximum visibility, evening driving, and builds where a manufacturer-stated DOT-approved windshield is desired.
Street-Legal Considerations
A DOT-approved windshield may be one component of a street-legal golf cart conversion, but installing WSYM12 does not make a Yamaha G22 street legal by itself.
Depending on local regulations, additional equipment may include:
- Headlights and taillights
- Brake lights
- Turn signals
- Horn
- Rearview and side mirrors
- Seat belts
- Reflex reflectors
- DOT-rated tires
- Slow-moving vehicle emblem
- Vehicle registration, inspection, or insurance
For a more complete street-legal build, pair this windshield with the appropriate Yamaha G22-compatible lighting, mirrors, seat belts, and other required safety equipment.
