Description
Tinted Folding Windshield for Yamaha G22
Add protection, flexibility, and a more finished appearance to your Yamaha with the SGC Tinted Folding Windshield.
Designed specifically for the Yamaha G22, this two-piece windshield helps shield the driver and passengers from wind, dust, insects, and light road debris.
When you want more airflow, the upper section folds down instead of requiring you to remove the entire windshield.
Folding Design for Changing Conditions
A raised windshield can provide welcome coverage on a cool or windy day but feel restrictive when the temperature rises.
This folding windshield gives you the flexibility to adjust your cart for changing weather.
Keep the windshield raised when you want additional coverage during:
- Cool morning drives
- Windy conditions
- Neighborhood transportation
- Trail use
- Seasonal weather
- Everyday driving
Fold the upper section down when you want increased airflow through the passenger compartment.
Always stop the cart before raising or lowering the windshield and secure the panel properly before driving.
Tinted Appearance
The tinted finish gives your Yamaha G22 a clean, upgraded appearance while helping soften harsh brightness through the front of the cart.
Its darkened appearance pairs naturally with popular G22 upgrades such as:
- Black roofs and roof supports
- Rear seat kits
- Lift kits
- Custom wheels and tires
- LED light kits
- Mirrors
- Fender flares
- Other black exterior accessories
Yamaha G22 Compatibility
Fits
- Yamaha G22
- Gas-powered carts
- Electric carts
- Standard factory-style windshield-support configurations
Steeleng lists WSYM04 fitment by model rather than publishing a model-year range on its current product page.
Confirm that the cart is a Yamaha G22 before ordering.
Does Not Fit
- Yamaha G14
- Yamaha G16
- Yamaha G19
- Yamaha G29 Drive
- Yamaha Drive2
- EZGO models
- Club Car models
- Carts with incompatible or substantially modified windshield supports
For a Yamaha G14, G16, or G19, choose the Yamaha G14, G16 & G19 Tinted Folding Windshield โ SGC WSYM03.
Confirm the Yamaha Model Before Ordering
Several Yamaha golf cart generations have similar appearances but use different windshield dimensions and mounting configurations.
Before ordering:
- Confirm that the cart is a Yamaha G22
- Do not identify the cart by appearance alone
- Check the manufacturer serial-number information when necessary
- Inspect the roof and front windshield supports
- Confirm that the supports have not been replaced or modified
- Compare the listed dimensions when fitment is uncertain
Do not order WSYM04 for a G14, G16, G19, G29 Drive, or Drive2 simply because the cart is a Yamaha.
Which Yamaha G22 Windshield Should You Choose?
WSYM04 โ Standard Tinted Folding Windshield
Choose WSYM04 if you want a straightforward tinted folding windshield at the most economical price point.
WSYM12 โ MOAB DOT-Approved Clear Windshield
Choose WSYM12 if clear construction and Steelengโs stated DOT approval are more important than a tinted finish.
Both options are designed specifically for the Yamaha G22, but their finish and DOT characteristics differ.
Street-Legal and DOT Considerations
This WSYM04 tinted windshield is not DOT-approved. Customers requiring a manufacturer-designated DOT-approved option should consider the Yamaha G22 DOT-Approved Clear Windshield โ SGC MOAB WSYM12.
A DOT-approved windshield is only one possible component of a street-use golf cart. Depending on state and local requirements, additional equipment may include:
- Headlights and taillights
- Turn signals
- Brake lights
- Horn
- Driver and passenger mirrors
- Seat belts
- Reflectors
- License-plate bracket and lighting
- DOT-approved tires
- Registration or inspection
- Insurance
- Other locally required equipment
Adding individual safety components does not automatically make a golf cart street legal. Always check local requirements before operating a golf cart on public roads.
Add front and rear lighting with the compatible Yamaha G14, G16, G19 and G22 12-Volt LED Light Kit โ SGC LIYM02. Additional signaling and safety equipment may be required for street operation.
