Description
DOT-Approved Clear Windshield for Yamaha Drive2
Give your Yamaha Drive2 improved protection from wind, dust, insects, and light weather without sacrificing forward visibility.
The SGC MOAB WSYM14 is a clear, folding golf cart windshield designed specifically for the Yamaha Drive2. Its manufacturer-stated DOT approval, heavy-duty 4mm construction, and convenient folding configuration make it an excellent upgrade for everyday cruising and street-oriented golf cart builds.
Manufacturer-Stated 1234-AS4 DOT Approval
Steeleng identifies WSYM14 as DOT Approved 1234-AS4.
This designation makes it a strong choice for Yamaha Drive2 owners who want a clear windshield for neighborhood travel or a properly equipped street-oriented build.
Street-use requirements vary by state, county, and municipality. Always confirm the complete windshield, safety-equipment, registration, and operating requirements in your area before driving a golf cart on public roads.
Clear Forward Visibility
Unlike a tinted windshield, the clear WSYM14 is designed to preserve visibility in changing light conditions.
A clear windshield is particularly beneficial for:
- Evening and nighttime driving
- Overcast or low-light conditions
- Street-oriented Yamaha Drive2 builds
- Campground and neighborhood transportation
- Commercial and property-maintenance carts
- Drivers who prioritize maximum forward visibility
Convenient Folding Design
The folding design allows you to adjust the windshield as driving conditions change.
Keep the upper section raised when you want additional protection from wind, dust, insects, and light weather. Fold it down when you want more airflow through the passenger compartment.
Yamaha Drive2 Compatibility
Fits
- Yamaha Drive2 golf carts
- Standard Yamaha Drive2 windshield mounting locations
Steeleng lists WSYM14 specifically for the Yamaha Drive2 but does not publish a production-year range on its current product page.
Does Not Fit
- Original Yamaha G29 Drive
- Yamaha G22
- Yamaha G16
- Yamaha G14 or G19
- Club Car models
- EZGO models
- Carts with modified or nonstandard windshield supports unless fitment is independently verified
Important: The original Yamaha G29 Drive and the Yamaha Drive2 use different windshield applications. WSYM14 is specifically for the Drive2.
Confirm Yamaha Model Before Ordering
Correct model identification is essential when ordering a Yamaha windshield.
The Yamaha G29 Drive and Drive2 can look similar at a glance, but they use different bodies and windshield applications. Before ordering, verify that your cart is a Yamaha Drive2 by checking the manufacturer identification label, serial-number location, or front-body styling.
If you are uncertain which Yamaha model you own, contact Peteโs Golf Carts before ordering.
Which Yamaha Drive2 Windshield Should You Choose?
Choose the windshield that best matches your driving conditions:
- WSYM02 โ Yamaha Drive2 Tinted Folding Windshield: A practical option when reduced daytime glare and a shaded appearance are the priorities.
- WSYM14 โ Yamaha Drive2 DOT-Approved Clear Windshield: Designed for maximum forward visibility and builds where a manufacturer-stated DOT-approved windshield is desired.
Street-Legal Considerations
A DOT-approved windshield may be one component of a street-legal golf cart conversion, but installing WSYM14 does not make a Yamaha Drive2 street legal by itself.
Depending on local regulations, additional equipment may include:
- Headlights and taillights
- Brake lights
- Turn signals
- Horn
- Rearview and side mirrors
- Seat belts
- Reflex reflectors
- DOT-rated tires
- Slow-moving vehicle emblem
- Vehicle identification, registration, inspection, or insurance
For a more complete build, pair this windshield with the appropriate Yamaha Drive2 light kit, mirrors, seat belts, tires, and locally required safety equipment.
