Complete Your Yamaha Drive2 King XD Lift
The MadJax 4″ Independent Rear Suspension Lift Kit provides the rear suspension components needed to complete a King XD lift installation on compatible Yamaha Drive2 Gas golf carts.
This is not a complete standalone lift kit. Item #16-056 is the rear kit only and must be used with MadJax Front Lift Kit #16-055. Customers who need both sections should purchase the complete MadJax King XD Lift Kit #16-062, which packages the correct front and independent-rear-suspension components together.
The kit replaces the factory rear suspension subframe with a new lifted cradle. It also adds a rear shock goalpost that relocates the upper shock mounting points, allowing the factory independent control arms, differential assembly, motor mounts, and shocks to operate at the new lifted height.
When combined with the required front lift, this system delivers a versatile four-inch ride height with space for larger tires while preserving the Drive2’s independent rear suspension design.

Recommended Tire Size
When installed with the required front lift, the complete four-inch system is designed for:
- Recommended tire height: 20″-22″
- Maximum tire height: Up to 22″
- Minimum wheel size: 10″
Actual clearance depends on wheel offset, tire width, tread design, installed accessories, and the load carried by the cart. MadJax specifically warns against using tires taller than 22″ with this four-inch suspension system.
Installation Notes
Professional installation is recommended. This rear IRS kit requires substantially more disassembly than a basic solid-axle rear lift.
Installation involves:
- Supporting and removing the rear differential and motor assembly
- Removing the factory rear suspension subframe
- Transferring the motor mounts to the new cradle
- Reinstalling the factory rear control arms
- Installing the new rear shock goalpost
- Temporarily removing the bagwell and QuietTech panel
- Temporarily removing an installed rear seat kit when necessary
- Reinstalling the rear shocks at the relocated mounting points
- Completing final camber and toe adjustment after both lift sections are installed
Important model-year notes:
- On 2020-Up models, portions of the factory frame brackets must be marked, cut, deburred, and covered with corrosion-resistant paint.
- The removed factory QuietTech panel will not reinstall after the new rear cradle is fitted.
- Carts with rear seats, or carts with damaged factory threaded holes, may require drilling through the rear frame tube and bagwell for through-bolt installation.
Final camber and toe adjustments should not be completed until both the front and rear lift sections have been installed and the cart has been test-driven. The adjustment procedure is included with Front Kit #16-055.
